Schematic Layout of the Program Window

 

For most photo products, the program interface of the photo software is split into the following main areas:

Menu bar

for controlling the software.

Toolbar

containing the icons for editing the various page objects (photos, texts, page layouts etc.).

SELECTION AREA

Selection options

To open the directory overview for photos

and list boxes for other object types.

Possibly "Download more".

Workspace

this is where the photo product is created and edited before ordering.

View options for the workspace

Page selection area

For products with several pages
(photobooks, calendars, etc.),
there are thumbnail views of all pages
to help you choose the page for the workspace.

Otherwise this field will be empty.

Product specifications

Button to open and edit the product specifications.

"Add to basket"

Places the currently open product in the baskett for ordering.

Preview display

Thumbnails to select the required objects.

Toolbar for selecting objects

Choosing the object type

E.g. "Photos & Videos," "Page Layouts," "Backgrounds," etc.

The "Menu bar" always stays the same. The "Page selection area" can also appear automatically on the right-hand side of the window if you have a wide screen monitor; this offers you the largest editor workspace possible. The other areas may have slightly different contents depending on the chosen photo product and editor.
